David
W. Adams, Esq.
David’s estate practice involves estate planning, estate administration, federal and state estate tax work, and advising trustees. While he enjoys the technical aspect of estate planning, it is working with his clients, their families, and their unique circumstances, goals and challenges that he finds most rewarding.
David’s practice also includes serving as legal counsel to many nonprofit and religious organizations throughout the country. In this role, he advises boards and management on formation issues, risk management, and endowment matters. David is the president and founder of DWA Risk Management Solutions, which provides on-line risk management resources to religious organizations and nonprofits.
David is a graduate of Harvard College (B.A., 1990) and Northeastern University School of Law (J.D., 2002). During law school he clerked for the Honorable Patti Saris and the Honorable Walter Skinner of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Bar Association’s Probate Section, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the Christian Legal Society.
David is married with a twelve year-old son and ten year-old daughter. He is a zealous coach for his kids’ soccer teams and an active member of his local congregation.

Andrew H. Butler, Esq. (of-counsel)
Andrew currently serves as of-counsel to the firm. He has 15 years of experience advising individuals, couples, families and institutions in all aspects of estate planning, estate administration, trust administration, probate litigation and federal and state taxation. He is experienced in drafting a wide range of revocable and irrevocable trusts, including QPRTs, CRTs, ILITs, and other sophisticated tools to address the goals and manage the wealth of individuals and families of high net worth. Andrew has particular expertise in business succession planning for family business owners, preparing special needs trusts and charitable gift planning.
Andrew practiced as an estate planning attorney in the Boston offices of Goodwin Procter LLP and Peabody & Arnold LLP. He also worked at the Boston Safe Deposit & Trust Company and the Tax Division of the United States Justice Department in Washington, D.C. He is the founder and owner of Butler & Kriegel LLP, a Wellesley estate planning firm which provides sophisticated estate planning to clients throughout Massachusetts.
Andrew is a cum laude graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he majored in Finance. After working on Wall Street, he attended the Georgetown University Law Center where he received both his J.D., cum laude, and his L.L.M. in Taxation, with distinction. Andrew lectures on a variety of estate planning topics and co-authored Drafting Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts for the National Business Institute. Andrew is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and New York.

Susan M. Traganos
Susan serves as the firm’s legal assistant. She has served in many administrative assistant positions over the years. She is responsible for keeping the firm’s clients moving through the planning process and managing the firm’s document production. Susan and her husband live in Lexington and are the proud parents of three sons (ages 16, 18, and 22) and their shittzu named Bruschi.
